Update

ChrisBurrow yesterday

Have not been following Foresters Friends that much theses days. Seem to have plenty to do and have been involved within the Social Enterprise sector over the past few years. I have more family responsibilities as well these days and blogging has not been high on the agenda .

I have stood down from a couple of roles, but continue to support the work of Colchester Trades Council as treasurer.  As to Court meetings I still try and attend those, but stood down as Chief Ranger,...

QUIZ NIGHTS 2011/2012

Sandra 24 days ago

Our quiz  night for the High Chief Ranger in September was another successful event. As always Richard Darlington made it such a fun evening so we all enjoyed ourselves at the same time as taxing our brains.  We had 120 people there and made lots of money for the HCR's charity, Guide Dogs. Thanks to everyone that participated, hopefully there are some photos that were taken on the night for you to look at somewhere on our site now.

Happy New Year etc......

ChrisBurrow 54 days ago

Happy New Year to all my friends. Here's hoping for a great 2012. I have plenty of work with my various interests, thus my now rather infrequent appearances on foresters friends. Though I am on another socialnetworking site, where I keep in touch with my former colleagues. Maybe I should have put more photos on foresters friends but I use flickr.com for that. Will try and add a few more photos of places of interest.... The new year means it time for re-affiliation letters for Trades Counci...

Andover Christmas Dinner

Microbe 85 days ago

On 26th November 2011, 60 members and friends gathered at the Bourne Valley Inn, St. Mary Bourne, for a most enjoyable Christmas Dinner, during which all official addresses were given in rhyme, and £200 was raised from the raffle for 'Hampshire & The Isle of Wight Air Ambulance'. Many thanks to Peter and his staff, and the Court Committee members for their efficiency on the night. Next year's event will be a LUNCH on 24th November 2012. Going Digital ....

ChrisBurrow 164 days ago

The arrival of a new digital TV has increased the number of TV channels I can access. I find I can watch BBC Parliament , along with Shopping channels, Russia Today and Al-Jazeera and lots more .... I must admit to enjoying catching up on episodes of Sherlock Holmes and Poiret on ITV3. Maybe I am not the most avid TV viewer. I was a fan of the "The West Wing" "NYPD Blue " along with "Heartbeat" and "The Royal" Of course digital brings in radio and sometimes I find myself listeni...

Have you heard of The Green Deal?

Claire 174 days ago

This new strategy is part of the Government's Green Deal, which aims to make the country's homes warmer, more energy efficient and cheaper to run.

You can visit the Department of Energy and Climate Change's website at www.decc...
